A [New] Space For Pals
Socializing is easy. Being ON socials isn’t.
Isn’t that a damn fine lookin’ burger?
Listen. We’ve been around for a while.
Our building is 150 years old (here’s proof)
The business is coming up on a 25 year anniversary (more proof)
We’ve been owned by PIE Incorporated for over a decade (even more proof)
We know how to do the whole social thing.
But the internet? The pictures, the videos, the liking, the hashtagging, the responding, the reposting, and the doom scrolling?
That’s not a version of “social” that we’re particularly fond of. It’s a lot of work for a platform that is so far out of our control that it actually seems to be controlling us. So we’ve decided to make a change.
We’re going Old-School [ish]
That means taking matters back into our hands. What we want to say, when we want to say it. Not created for some AI robot that controls the clouds. Nuh-uh. Not here.
We make real things, by real people, FOR real people.
So that means making things a little less flashy for likes, and a little more in-depth for the people that care. That means taking time to make meaningful connections, delivered directly to the people who are interested in them.
We don’t need to be here for everybody, but we DO need to be here for the people that matter.
So we’re doing it in public
Launching this blog, that is.
If you want in on this adventure, saddle up. This horse is not tame but it’s doing some wild cool sh*t.
Well, at least we think so, and so do our moms.
We don’t really know exactly how this is going to shake out, but hopefully it’s with [somewhat] useful content about us, our neighborhood, and some other stuff we find interesting, on a somewhat regular basis.
